A disciple of world-renowned tabla master Pandit Anindo
Chatterjee, Javad's thorough approach to the instrument reflects his
training at the hands of one of the finest tabla artists alive today.
In addition to his impressive technique, Javad's overall musicality,
expressed equally in solo performance and accompaniment, leaves a
lasting impression on listeners and has made him an in-demand young
artist.
He began his tabla studies in Bombay with the late Ustad Bashir Ahmed
Khan, known as Ustad Rais Khan's accompanist. Later Javad became a
disciple of Ustad Rehman Khan, a legendary musician and teacher living
in Ahmedabad, India. In time, Javad had the rare honor of becoming an
official "gandabandh" disciple of Pandit Anindo Chatterjee.
Javad has had the honor of accompanying world-renowned artists such as
Ustad Sultan Khan, Sri Alam Khan, Sri Shakir Khan, and Pandit Mukesh
Desai. He has played in such venues worldwide as the Peter Norton
Symphony Space in New York, Yale University, Columbia University, The
Palace of Fine Arts in San Francisco, the San Francisco Conservatory
of Music, and the Saptak Music Festival in Ahmedabad, India.
With a deep love for the inexhaustible art of tabla, Javad is always
continuing to learn and develop. His playing, noteworthy for
its clarity and fine sound quality, represents a virtuosic tradition
alive in a new generation.

Dear Javad, Thank you so much for accepting my Add Request. I enjoy very much to listen to you and your tabla. Thank you for sharing your music on MySpace. In Amsterdam we have a festival of Indian Music and I have enjoyed many concerts - and a very special one with the Misra Brothers. We felt and sensed one soul, humbleness, devotion and dedication to a tradition.
When I listen to your music I sense the same and I am glad that you, as you wrote, practice the art of tabla and keep the tradition alive in a new generation.
For now and the future I wish you, and the ones you love, lots of joy, love & wonder forever!
