Javier Mendoza has just released his newest and amazing seventh full-length album, produced by David de las Heras (Involved with Vicente Amigo’s, “Ciudad De Las Ideas”, Flamenco grammy winning album). This highly anticipated new release is the follow up to his all Spanish CD “Asolas...en un pasaje de mi vida” released in 2005.
Javier has departed from anything he’s done before and connected with his Spanish roots in new ways. He spent three months in Spain in the summer of 06 truly blending his American and Spanish culture. There has been no better time to self-title the cd, for this cd captures Javier’s true musical identity, whose mother is from Spain where Javier was raised. His father is from Mexico and is the true reason why he sings and plays guitar.
The new album blends American folk-pop with Flamenco and Electronica and some rock-oriented material. It is so rhythmic and percussive it’s “ridiculous”. Along with David, he worked with Spanish writer and producer-artists “Añil”, an amazing Flamenco writer and percussionist and “Lin”, a writer, producer and recording artist who blends Funk and Flamenco.
The debut singles “All In Love”, “Julieanne” captures all the styles mentioned, carefully layering each influence of sounds like paint on a palette, giving every sound a palatable sense, a living sensation, as if listening to your own heartbeat, and words so honest they could be talking about your own experience with falling in love.
2007 is shaping up to be another busy one for Javier, with anticipated tours in the west and east coast. In 2006 Javier performed over 130 shows all over the States gaining new loyal fans captivated by Javier’s known charismatic and honest performance on stage, and this year he’s planning on surpassing that.

Today a 13 year old girl’s virginity will be sold to the highest bidder. She was tricked into leaving home by lies of higher wages paid for honest work in a neighboring country. Leaving home in the middle of the night, joyous thoughts of finally being able to help provide for her struggling family were going through her mind. At this moment she’s desperately trying to turn off her thoughts as she has lost hope in ever knowing joy again. “A normal day” use to mean school, playing soccer with her brother, meals with her family, and laughing with her friends. Today, “a normal day” means being raped by 15 men. If she resists, she is beaten and deprived of food. If she escapes, her captors have told her they will kill her family. Today a 13 year old girl is waiting in hell for someone to fight for her freedom. 15 Bands 10 Hours 1 Reason to Fight!!! Feb 7th Noon-10pm Washington, MO
