DJ and Producer, Javi Lopez was born in Málaga, Spain. His interest in music started at a very early age listening to dance, pop, reggae and rap. By the age of 15 he had purchased a set of decks and began to DJ at home. Aside from DJ’ing he was also eager to produce his own music and started this at around the same time. Artists who have influenced Javi include, Chuck Love, Demarkus Lewis, Joey Youngman, Bryan Jones, Johnny Fiasco, Harry Choo Choo, Joeski, Jamie Anderson and Kaskade – to name but a few!
As time went on he played in various clubs around Malaga and even secured himself various residencies along the Costa del Sol. Aside from playing at many events and private parties, Javi has graced the DJ box at Nikki Beach, Puro Beach, etc. He has also had the honour to share the stage with Kylie Minogue, Giles Smith & DJ Vas. However, during this period he was still investing much of his time in production.
Javi’s production styles range from Soulful to Funky House, Deep, Jackin’ and more. Over the years he has found himself working with many well known record labels such as 77 Soul, SINsation Sound, Revival, Open Bar Music, Union Recordings, Ospina Digital Records, Groove Baby Digital and most recently D:Vision Records, who have also released tracks for great artists such as Bob Sinclar, Benny Benassi, Moby, Robin S, Barbara Tucker, David Vendetta, Faithless and Martin Solveig. Javi has also produced for Aphrodisio Recordings, who have released tracks with other well known artists such as Miguel Migs, Kaskade, Johnny Fiasco, JT Donaldson and Chuck Loves, amongst others.
To date Javi has also collaborated with vocalists such as Danil (from the Dennis Ferrer track “Church Lady”), Robina, Ama and Jamie Lee Wilson. 2009 has seen him release his most recent remix called “Herbasana On The Rock 2009” and he does not look to be stopping there!
