What is a Zombie Walk?

A zombie walk is an organized public gathering of two or more people who dress up in zombie costumes and make up. Zombie Walks usually take place in an urban center, the participants make their way around the city streets and through shopping malls in a somewhat orderly fashion and often limping and gnawing their way towards a local cemetery or movie theater. Participants are encouraged to remain in character as zombies and to communicate only in a manner consistent with zombies (grunts, groans and slurred moans calling for "brains".) Zombie Walks take place all over the world!

UPCOMING EVENTS:

Landing of the Dead
October, 29th 2009 - 8pm-2am
Zombies descend upon the Jacksonville Landing during their Florida/Georgia celebration! Costume contest and tons of giveaways. Live entertainment until 2 a.m. The undead are encouraged to bring two non-perishable food or personal hygiene item. Benefits the Sulzbacher Center.

HALLOWEEN
October, 31th 2009
Jacksonville Zombie Walk hosts "The Zombie Zone" at FACTORY's Haunted Time Machine 6. Also Featuring Fetish stage shows by the Infernal Doll Factory and Burlesque stage shows by members of the Seduction Cast. Located at Edge 17, 1187 Edgewood Ave. Doors open 10pm. 18 and up with proper ID.


PAST EVENTS:

World Zombie Day 2009- 10.11.2009
Jacksonville had over 300 zombies descend on downtown Jacksonville for the second year of this world wide charity event, which raised 447 pounds of food for the Jacksonville's Second Harvest Food Bank. Zombies gathered at the Twisted Martini at the Jacksonville Landing and ended at Cafe 331 where there were performances by Chachi Sickboy of Section 8, Sammy Sutra, Aeva and 2416.

Zombie Luau - 5.23.2009
Live music by Hollowbody Hellraisers, Ghostwitch Family Band and Locust Grove. Dance music by DJ SuziRok. Bikini Blood Wrestling, Zombie Limbo and Zombie Target Range! Horror Art Gallery with art from Jerrod Brown, Chad Landenberger and Squiddust. FACTORY after party starts at 10pm!

Eat Your Heart Out Zombie Pub Crawl - 2.14.09
Valentine's Day - The crawl began at London Bridge and ended at Cafe 331.

World Zombie Day Zombie Walk - 10.26.2008
A world wide charity event run by the It's Alive show in Pittsburgh. We hosted the Jacksonville chapter and raised 507 pounds of food for Jacksonville's Second Harvest Food Bank.

Zombie Walk - 5.2.2008
This was our first walk which was done during First Fridays in 5 Points. The walk began at Riverside Park and ended at Starlight.
