To date Jay has performed live at over 300 gigs as well as recording with many different artists as a session musician. Jay is currently playing solo shows at bars, clubs and weddings as well as fronting his band Newrising who have appeared alongside Newton Faulkner, Martin Harley and Mungo Jerry.
Born in Guildford in 1981 Jay was brought up in a music loving family with his mum and brother both being keen guitarists. This in turn inspired Jay to pick up the guitar at just aged 8 and even though at such a young age he realised that’s what he wanted to do for the rest of his life. With his parents introducing him to the sounds of Joni Mitchell and the Beatles Jay started to explore all genres of music and has been influenced by the likes of Bob Marley, Tracy Chapman, Ben Harper and James Taylor to name but a few.
As well as being a professional musician Jay is also an excellent teacher, teaching guitar to a wide range of people on all levels over the past 10 years.
Electronically Tested are helping Jay to continue to book dates at venues across the country and widen his demographic popularity. As an agency we are helping to achieve this as we can see he has a special talent that deserves to be shared.
