Obviously painting, Writing, Photography, Music, Movies, also the Garden here on the cliff, Cooking, Knife-throwing and the whole amazements of Faith, Laughter and Love.
Music
Classical, particularly Russian; with Shostakovitch tops at the moment; Jazz,(I compose and play) Experimental (I participated in the early Rock underground)and Contemporary: Gang Gang Dance are terrific. Also that Ten Baritone Sax Japanese band that I can't spell. The intellectual end of the dub scene that used to be called Musique Concrete. Tin Hat. The Berlin Philharmonic. The Kronos quartet.
Movies
Tops are still: The Blues Brothers. RED ROAD. The Draughtsman's Contract. Quills. Toy Story. Shakespeare in love, for the way musicians are treated by the great and, er, good. MONSIEUR HULOT'S HOLIDAY and everything else Jaques Tati. Diva. Blade Runner. Fifth Element. Un Chien Andalou. Eyes Wide Shut (for the girls, Kubrick's STYLE and the Jazz Waltz.) Pirates of the Caribbean, for my daughter's obsession with Johnny Depp. To my delighted surprise, 'Miami Vice', stunning art direction. Baghdad Cafe. Gosford Park. Mash. The Big Sleep. The Big Chill. Anything Black, White, and Big. And, or, moody. Yes, that includes Nosferatu, Dr caligari's Cabinet and Felix the Cat. I played piano for a silent screening of buster keaton's 'The General'
Modesty Blaise for the sunglasses and the fish in the cocktail. New: Sidney Lumet's amazingly dark morality play 'Before the Devil Knows You're Dead'; the stunning (in every way)Tim Burton Sweeney Todd. yes, I shut my eyes, to my urbane daughter's amusement... but didn't miss the BEAUTIFUL art direction, and Depp's Beethoven scowl throughout the Bonham-Carter seaside fantasy. Brilliant.
Television
Oh, dunno. Hate television since I fell off the carousel, but: Desperate housewives first series is still the best satire i've seen. Midsomer Murders, for the nostalgia of Middle England. Judge Deed for taking on the establishment. The writers for doing the same.
Xena warrior princess and other factual documentaries on bare-thighed life in Olden Times, for detachment and historical accuracy. Party Political broadcasts for the same. Anything with gratuitous nudity that wasn't made in the seventies.(damn' saxophones) Unless it's REALLY gratuitous.
Books
Dictionaries and encyclopoedias. 'Miracle Play' by Barry Unsworth. impressive. I've revisited Velikovsky's 'worlds in collision'. Love Robertson Davies, Josephine Tey, Rex Stout. Michael Kurland. Thrillers with wit. Dostoevsky. Anais Nin. Erotica that isn't crap. Even E. that is, if there are masterly illustrations. Fuseli, Rowlandson, China Hamilton.
By contrast, I enjoy the old 'peanuts' cartoon strips. Sir Walter Gilbey's biography of George Moreland. My own 'A Beastly Collection' now it's an antique.
Heroes
Whoa! History has a way of outing these as less than they were seen to be at the time. Anyone who stands up for that which they genuinely believe is right, regardless of the cost. Thomas Moore. Socrates. Obviously, Jesus Christ. Ghandi. A thousand million often unwilling soldiers since Genesis who died trying to save their fellows.
Digital and atmospheric Black and white photography, in tandem with my role as painter and for the new surreal photo montages; usually featuring nudity and semi nudity; Goth, Retro, Burlesque. I'm still happy to trade images for time.
Tell the Truth: current Novel awaits the right agent; published work has been mainly Children's books, including one Best Seller, one collectors' piece. I also function as essayist, poet and, songwriter.

About me: I'm STILL not really ninety; creeping closer tho'!
There's some er, information on Wikepedia (along with one of those bignose c/u photos, dammit!)
'Jonathon X.Coudrille' will probably find it,
http://www.artreview.com/profile/JXCoudrille will show you a few of the paintings; but: at an intimate level, I'VE FINISHED THE FINAL DRAFT (please God) of,'THE METATRON DISC' FIRST BOOK OF THE TIME KEY, we're STILL mixing the JazzHatt album, probably to be re-titled 'TOTALLY OUT TO LUNCH', my thanks to Eric Dolphy and, Douglas Adams, with my band 'GWELHELLIN GOTH' (known derisively to my intimates as
'THE GENTLEMAN'S LUNCHEON CLUB'),
tho' we have now released the Country Album
WILD, WILD WEST YOO-KAY!and, wearing my now moth-eaten Art Hat, in addition to this large red Elgar commemoration (view the anamorphic portrait from the right hand margin near the horizon), on two series of paintings (see hopelessly outdated site www.jxc.ukf.net),
one featuring the coast where I live, and one featuring the nude and semi-nude; the 'white secrets' are a series of little oils featuring those who want to be naked but anonymous, hence the concealing white curtain that confers the name; these have been very popular commissions; yes, I love my work... I'm also starting the 'Frocked and Unfrocked' series; some couture gowns to which to look forward. see facebook.com/jonathon.x.coudrille
Also I continue the Surreal photo-montages that started as a homage to my friend the late Conroy Maddox (pictured in the slide show at Penzance Arts Club.) I believe I may still not post any of these images on this site, they're very Freudian; that's the point; so I've posted a few of the nude-free paintings.
may I thank you all and, 'myspace' for enriching my life;
I've met and, joyfully, made new friends here. with love,

Who I'd like to meet: PEOPLE WHO ADORE MY WORK!
Above all right now I'd like to meet the right Literary Agent!
I have so many wonderful and valued friends from the entirely random sample of humanity that my life and travels have brought into focus, and Myspace has already added to the wonder. I don't know if I'm allowed to say that people who would like to appear in my surreal photo-montages, (usually featuring nudity,) also in the METATHESIS painting series, (often some female nudity, but certainly not De Rigeur)and the SECRETS series,(female nudity is the subject) would be particularly welcome?
Also I enjoy meeting all musicians who recognise that the gift IS a gift. Certainly I'd like to have met Beethoven, tho' I gather he was picky with his own acquaintance. I did meet Segovia, George Melly, Spencer Davis, Viv Prince, Danny Kaye, Jack Brymer, and....Laurel and Hardy! The autograph has faded, but I still have it. And there's a picture here with dear old Conroy Maddox, last of the original Surrealists. Rest in peace, Conroy. Also, rest in peace Colin Scott, another considerable artist whom we lost recently. I'd also like to re-connect with old friends whom I've offended in some way and try and put things right. Sometimes this happens, and it's balm to the soul.
