Jay Foreman is a comedic acoustician whose unique repetoire falls almost exactly halfway between live music and sit-down comedy. Flitting violently between subtle humour, catchy singalongs and mindless bad taste, Jay is drawing considerable attention even from people who aren't students anymore. Achievements include BBC New Talent Pick of the Fringe 2007, Screentest Best Comedy 2008, Tuborg Musical Comedy Awards Best Newcomer 2009 and one of his songs being covered and played regularly by veterans Kit and the Widow. Jay can't decide whether he's happy about being known on youtube as the "Moon Chavs" guy.

Hello! My name's Jay. I'm 24, I'm from North London and I like to sing silly songs.
It all started back in February 2005, when I was a student at the University of York. I needed a money-raising project to pay for a hitch-hiking trip to Morocco and making a CD seemed like the best idea at the time, cos everyone at open mic night seemed to like my funny songs. I thought maybe some people would buy them. My first CD sold considerably more than I'd imagined (100 within the first month) and I became known around campus as "The Moon Chavs Guy".
In April 2005, I won Banks Basement Tapes Artist of the Month and over the next academic weeks and months, I did more and more open mics on campus, which soon became proper gigs all over the country. By 2007 I'd made 2 more CDs, so I put the best bits from all 3 albums onto one Best of called "20 Songs".
In August 2007 I did a show at the Edinburgh Festival Fringe called "20 Songs for Free". The BBC came to see it and they liked it so much, they made this video:
(I said loads more than that by the way. I talked for about 40 mins and they just picked their favourite bits.)
In 2009 I won Best Newcomer at the Tuborg Musical Comedy Awards.
These days I'm getting as many gigs as I can and looking for representation.

Here's a video we made for my song "Stealing Food"
And here are 2 more films I made at uni. The second one ("Vegetize Me") won the award for "Best Comedy" at the Screentest Student Film Awards 2007! YAAAAY!!!
