    Jay Hollis doesn't play the part of a country boy, he IS country. Jay comes from a bull riding background - champion bull rider to be specific - that offers him an insiders look into what it means to be a cowboy. Jay's fans are loyal, activated, and keep him on the charts. In the first week of releasing his first single "One More Day," Jay sat in one of the top three positions on all radio station charts playing the song. Jay's music reaches beyond the rodeo circuit. He writes songs for rural America. Songs that speak directly to the daily lives of the common folk. Jay connects! Jay is a true county music entertainer. Jay Hollis was born in Wichita Falls, Texas where he lived until he finished the sixth grade. At the age of ten he learned to play the fiddle. Even though his dad loved music and could sing almost every song ever written, no one in his immediate family played an instrument... to Jay - music came naturally. While in Jr. High he and his family moved to the country where his interest soon changed.
He jumped head first into the sport of bull riding. This also came naturally to Jay and he gained much success at an early age. Jay decided to put music on the back-burner. Long road trips, late nights, broken bones, and hospital stays didn’t prevent him from becoming a professional bull rider in the PRCA and PBR when he turned 18. He was also awarded a Bull Riding Scholarship and began attending Vernon Regional Junior College. That is when the music came back. He learned to play guitar during his free time and was surrounded by other aspiring musicians... which drove him to sharpening his skills of singing, playing, and song writing. It was then that someone convinced him to record a CD with a few cover songs. That was all it took! It didn’t take long for him to fall in love with performing on stage. He played solo gigs around town and quickly learned how to get things done on his own. Soon... he realized it was time for a full fledge band. His shows were always influenced by his dad's taste of music... there was something for everyone. He's now performing his country originals, which have a small hint of Elton John and Garth Brooks influence.
He has recently released his self titled debut album 'Jay Hollis.' He is currently completing his 'local' shows and will soon be hitting the road for his first regional tour. His management team is currently working on his tour schedule for 2009.
Jay says, "My dream is to influence fans with a refreshing & original performance and sound that they will always remember."
