First, I should point out that this 'band bio' is not really a band bio, since I am not currently in a band (at least not an active one). The hope is that setting up this page changes all of that. As the profile name suggests, I am a drummer, or at least, I like to play the drums alot. Once, I was in this band called Ben Grim. We toured a bunch, recorded some seven inches (remember when people still listened to vinyl?) and a cd ep. After the band fell apart, the nice people at Boss Tuneage put out a retrospective album for us. This made for two little rock-n-roll ironies: 1. our band finally got signed... after we broke up, and 2. we were bigger in Japan than here in the U.S. Sensing the immanent demise of Ben Grim, I got my ass into college so as to avoid any chance of having to get a manual labor job and "grow up." During school I had a couple of near reunions with my beloved bandmates Joel and Peter (now of Jennifer Echo fame), but with no luck. Thinking that rock had had its way with me and finally left me sniveling in the gutter, school-plan B-had now become plan A. But rock wasn't done with me completely yet. In early 2003, Ric (of home town heroes Vesicular Basalt and of titletown heroes Boris the Sprinkler) started a band with me and old friend, the notorious metal head Ales. We were the Leptons, and the aftershock of our short lived blast of rock-n-roll fury is still being felt back in Wisconsin. But I got into grad school and in a 'jayme goes to college' type scenario I was off to western Mass to embark on a PhD program in philosophy. So here I am, in Northampton, Ma, with that familar burning to rock out. Consider this page my rock-n-roll resume. I am on the prowl.

Okay maybe THIS one will gather me a quicker response... How the fuck are you Mister 'move real far away and stop talking to everyone that cares...' (I mean that in the best way possible) Quick Question: Does Jayme STILL play drums???
Jayme, It is good to hear you are now adhering to the numero uno rule of of punk-rockedness: Always keep your shirt on, even when you feel yourself melting.
I think I still have a drum kit? I think they are blue. And, of course, I miss them too.
