Since relocating from Atlanta 5 years ago, Jay Prouty (aka JayP) has quickly risen to top of the Boston dj scene and become one of the cities go-to guys for underground music. Jay's busy dj schedule has seen him playing regularly at the top venues in the city, including Avalon, Rise, and Underbar, as well as appearances up and down the east coast from Miami to Montreal. With past dj performances alongside the world's best including Deep Dish, Steve Lawler, Roger Sanchez, Satoshi Tomiie, Pete Tong, Marques Wyatt and Gene Farris to name a few, Jay continues to prove why he belongs with the big boys. His ability to span all genres of house and techno, from deep and jazzy to techy and progressive, has him holding down residencies at the infamous RISE Afterhours - Boston's only afterhours club, multiple lounges in the northeast, as well as continued performances at the largest clubs in Boston.
Jay is also co-founder of Cassiamor Productions, a now defunct production company which hosted some of the past parties in recent years. Whether it be top notch boat cruises in the Boston Harbor, Decadent New Years Eve bashes at the best clubs in Boston, or weekly events at Martini Lounges throughout the city, the Cassiamor name has become synonomous with quality.
Jay's newest venture is starting TASTE..., a promotion company dedicated to bringing forward thinking, cutting edge events to the city of Boston. Along with co-conspirators Jeff Grosse of DiskHo Montreal and Sergio Santos of MARZ Entertainment, TASTE... was formed to push the musical boundaries of the city. TASTE's first event featured international phenoms BOOKA SHADE last August, and the most recent event will be NYC TECHNO legends ADULTNAPPER AND DJ THREE sharing the bill on August 15, 2008 at The Estate Nightclub.
