Maybe the next CL Smooth, Big pooh or Common might have a mixtape with one of these beats on! Yeh man, I have listening to this time and time again, and I know there's rappers both sides of the ponds that are feeling the soulful sounds of jay Quest. Jay Quest Room Vs Rapper Big Pooh Room Who's Room IS The Worst?
(Jay-Quest) was born January 22, 1989 in Rochester, New York city between Buffalo and Syracuse. As a child he use to watch his older brother Josh DJ Sight mess around with his techniques. In the year 1998, Jay started to get into music he use to take his older brother’s records and mess around with them take songs off the records and put them on tapes and walk around and listen to the songs in his walkman. Not long after Jay started to write rhymes with his friends Louie, Hum, Matt and a few others he grew up with. Soon after in fall of 2000, Jay got tired of rhyming over industry instrumentals and saved up and brought a cheep casio keyboard and started to make his own beats. In 2001 when Jay was in the 8th grade he started to get into underground hip hop music Jay started to record instrumentals and listen to beats from Alchemist, Dj Premier , Buck wild, Rza, and Pete Rock. In the spring of 2001 Jay saved up and brought a Yamaha Djx2 sampler/keyboard that got him into sampling music off old records. In 2002, Jay friend Divine showed him how to use the MPC 2000 and took him around to different spots around the city of Rochester to dig for records. In the winter of 2003, when Jay was16 he got himself a job at a McDonalds where he met his boy Cisco a.k.a. InNO Jay worked and saved up all his pay and brought his self a MPC 2000XL and a Korg Karma. During the year 2004, Jay went strait to his room after school every day and made beats and didn’t show any of his beats to any one for almost a whole year. Fall of 2004, Jay got back in touch with his boy Cisco (InNO) Jay showed him some of the beats he was working on not long after jay began to hit InNo up with beats and showed him how to work the MPC 2000XL. Spring of 2005, Jay had made over 900 beats and was getting sick of having all them beats and no one to rap over them so Jay started to give beats out to people he also made up a sound click page his friend Ian made up for him. In November 2005, Jay came up with a ideal to make a beat cd with a industry producer make as if his beats was going against the industry producer beats. that’s when Jay came up with the ideal and drop his first cd Jay-Quest vs. 9th wonder. The cd was something different it was good for Jay not to many people would put out a cd and give rappers the opportunity to flow over their beats for free or take the beats and use it for mix tapes. By early 2006 Jay’s name was becoming well knowing in the upstate New York region and some other areas. The cd was featured in a few magazines and had some write ups on it the cd also help Jay connect with a few artist Rich London, Mag, and Azariah. Now Jay-Quest is getting ready to drop his second cd (Jay-Quest vs. Green Lantern round :2) and there is more to come from this young producer .
