This is Jays Dojo. I am a musician for a number of projects, and I record and produce under Dojo Records. I have grown to love many genres of music and and like to incorporate many influences into my playing. I was born in Harrisonburg Virginia and transplanted to Indiana at the age of 8. My first experience with music that made my heart rock was a Doc Watson LP that my parents had, "Doc Watson and the Frosty Morning Band". I still have the record. In the music player are projects that I am heavily involved with, most recently, the release of "Adrienna Valentine" with Trent Wagler. Dojo album roster: Goldmine Pickers self-titled album recorded by Jay Lapp, mixed and produced by Lapp and Lukas Simpson at Jays Dojo. DR-001 Trent Wagler-Journal of a Barefoot Soldier was recorded/produced at Jays Dojo and I contributed with mandolin, guitar, and vocals. DR-002 Trent Wagler and the Steel Wheels "Blue Heaven" was recorded by NimbleWit Productions (Nate Butler), mixed/produced by J. Lapp and T. Wagler and additional recording at Jays Dojo. DR-003 Goldmine Pickers "Lonesome Gone" was recorded by Gabriel Hershberger and Jay Lapp at Jays Dojo, and produced by Gabriel Hershberger & Goldmine Pickers. Frances Miller and I teamed up for this soundtrack and I included a music clip in the player. Frances is a multi-instrumentalist playing violin and piano in the soundtrack. I played guitar, mandolin and lap steel. What came out was a mix of tradition with an ambient feel. It was recorded by NimbleWit Productions and mixed at Jays Dojo.
