Willie, Waylon, Merle (Do these three really need a last name?),Skynyrd, Johnny Cash, Ray Price, Jim Reeves, Jim Croce, Early Eagles, Late Ealgles, Marshall Tucker Band, Allman Brothers, Isley Brothers, Brothers Johnson, all the brother's bands, a little beach music, and everything in between.
Born and raised in Lumberton, North Carolina, my first exposure to country music was at an AM radio station where my mom worked for years. I learned the names Patsy Cline, Ray Price, Jim Reeves, and eventually Hank Williams, Willie and Waylon. Not a bad way to grow up.
I managed to move all over the country after college at Appalachian State University in Boone N.C. (can you shed a tear or two for Michigan and the "big house") writing songs while I was working in film and television in New York and Los Angeles. While I was in Los Angeles, I got lucky and met the best thing that ever happened to me. My beautiful wife Lonette. We now live in Brentwood, TN just outside of Nashville. You can usually find me hanging out with my guitar and a co-writer or two hammering out another song or maybe just hammering out another Bud Lite.
Hey....Check out some of my songs. Let me know what you like and don't like. I'll change'em up as often as I can. Check out some of my co-writers too. Ray Peal at RayPeal.com as well as Ben Montgomery, Tom Flanery and others right here on MySpace. Great songwriters one and all. Hey Tom Flanery, be careful on that damn motorcycle. The last thing I need is to have that cool songwriter brain of yours scrambled. Be careful!! Hey ya'll...look up "good ole boy" in the dictionary..you'll find Tom Flanery's picture.
Also, give Buck Allen a big USA Booyah!!! Buck is serving us in Iraq right now. Another great songwriter. Buck my man, keep your head down, cover your butt with that guitar, and I'll see you when you get home. We got an afternoon writing appointment that involves serveral Bud Lites.
I have started a new you tube series, "Video of The Week". There is a new video posted every week . Here is the Video of the Week #5. It is an original, Carolina Angel http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=7sMl--R8VtI
