Jay was born on November 17th, 1984 in Tampa Florida and raised on a two
thousand acre cattle ranch in Central Florida, that has been in his family for over
three generations. He learned to sing from his Mother, Father and Grandparents
as he sang in the choir, along with solo performances, at the local Baptist Church
when he was only five years old, realizing his love for music early on.
At age seventeen Jay received his first guitar and started taking his desire for country
music much more seriously. With this he began writing his own songs, optimistically
looking forward to his future career as a musician. At age 19 Jay received a tremendous
boost when he auditioned for a contest called, "Florida Super Singer", and, to
make a long story short, out of 856 hopefuls, he won top honors.
Jay shares his continued pride towards his country heritage with one of his
favorite songs titled "The Country Inside of Me", which appears on his new
Nashville produced CD, "Plain and Simple". Jay's wide vocal range on
this CD varies from falsetto to bass featuring his own original songs as well
as several others from hit country music songwriters Kirsti Manna, David Kent,
Danny Myrick, Dell Gray, and Ashe Underwood.
Along with his rich voice and slight southern accent, you can't help but to notice
his tall stature and overall good looks supported with a smile that the camera loves.
To sum it all up, with Jay you get just Jay, "Plain and Simple"... and a whole lot more.
