Love of all genres, with feeling, depth and spice! Especially early 50s and 60s blues and rock and roll, Beatles, Rolling Stones. Lyrically influenced by Bob Dylan and Leonard Cohen, and with a style of soulful voice like Annie lennox, Susan Vegas, Tori Amos, Amy Winehouse and Norah Jones.

Set me on Fire is the second album from Jazmine Ava who started her musical career 5 years ago in Brighton, where she self- released a successful acoustic style album ‘Sunshine & Shadows’ in 2007. This album received rave reviews, press attention, radio play on BBC Suffolk, BBC Essex and Saint Fm as well as airplay on a Californian radio station, BBS Radio.
Tracks from this album, 'Rainbows' and 'Deep Red Wine were semi-finalists in 2008 and 2009 UK Songwriting contest.
She returned to her original home in Essex 2 years ago - bursting onto the music scene and stunning audiences across Essex and Suffolk. She formed a band of exceptional musicians with Geoff Clark (Lead Guitar), Ken Flatt (Bass) and newer members Christopher Daniels – (Saxophone), and Cameron Morrell – (Drums), who have developed a unique style of raw and passionate music which fused with different genres of Blues, Soul, Folk, Country, Gypsy and Reggae music.
Last summer, the band made local Essex headlines for playing the main stage at The Wivenhoe Mayfair and have played at prestigious venues all over Essex, Suffolk and London including The Charter Hall in Colchester, The Kelvedon Festival, The Burnham River Festival, The Ipswich Music Day Festival, The Cramphorn Theatre and the famous Bedford in London.

Jazmine Ava says of the band’s music, “Every song we create reaches out from the heart to capture the depth of all the feelings and experiences we find meaning in within our everyday lives, it is an honesty that our audience connect with.”
The band’s ever growing fan base includes Peter Green from Fleetwood Mac, who has attended the bands gig at The Charter Hall, Colchester in June 2009, as his nephew, Joe Geen has played saxophone with them as a guest musician in a few events.

Hiya it's lauren! Have been missing your music and was absolutely delighted when I saw the chance to download - being a student obviously funds are ridiculously tight but am now thinking I may have to stretch out for an album next time I see you! Hope you are well my dear :) xxxxxxx
Hi jazmine! Wishing you a great weekend and don't forget - to enjoy the good times, you've had to suffer some pain/to reach the sunshine you've had to walk through the rain .............. all the best, Paul:)!
Jazmine has been played on the It's A Frog's Life Acoustic Podcast Show 71 - Pour me a drink - with all of the songs being linked to an alcohol theme. And by cutting down on the talking I've managed to squeeze eleven songs into the 60 minute show.
There are tipsy tunes from Edwina Hayes, Carleko, Gerry McNiece, Joe Topping, Terry Coyne, Anthony John Clarke, Kaya, Jazmine Ava, His Worship and The Pig, Invocal, Ten Gallon Hat & The Big Salute, and a bedding track from Matt Steven's brand new album. Perfect for New Year's Eve!
Thank you all for listening and supporting the show during 2008.
Happy New Year!
Graham..
