Of course we can't get everywhere we would like to around the state, so we rely on our friends to keep us informed and up-to-date.     It’s been well over a year since I last recorded something new my friend, but it’s that time again.
    I posted a new original song called “Forever No Restraints.” It's the frist song on the Myspace music player.

    I refer to it as cosmic blues.....but blues it ain't.
    I used to do this song as a short solo acoustic piece, but I decided to turn it into a lengthy electric guitar jam and let my freak flag fly!

    It has a strong Hendrix vibe, but is uniquely me….. Please drop by my page and have a listen!
    I also posted a video of me doing the song as I recorded it, so even if the music player isn't working, you can check the song out in the video.

    At Pine Ridge Plaza, the same shopping center as Round Up,
    next door to Kabooms. Entrance at I-595 & Pine Ridge Dr.

    Get to Interstate 595 in Broward. From the East, exit at Pine Island Road and turn left (south) at the light. Turn right into the Publix plaza, then drive through that plaza. Cross Pine Ridge Drive into the RoundUp plaza, and continue west until you see Dunkin’ Donuts on your right and the lighted red sign MUSIC CAFÉ on your left. That’s Stage 84!

    Florida bluesman Charlie Morris wrote those words in 2008. He’s sad but not surprised that a major oil spill in the Gulf of Mexico has given them new relevance.

     

    In honor of Earth Day, BluesPages Records has released a special online edition of Got Greedy. On the new web site, at www.gotgreedy.com, you can hear the song, read the lyrics, see some dirty pictures and follow links to various sites about energy and environmental issues.

     

    In light of the oil spill now threatening Charlie’s home state, BluesPages has decided to donate all the revenue from Got Greedy in 2010 to charities assisting in the cleanup efforts, or working to end offshore oil drilling.
