"Zooropa...better by design / Zooropa...fly the friendly skies / Through appliance of science / We've got that ring of confidence"
I've tried to write this profile in both the first and third person. I've alternated by some sort of hippish poeticism and just putting up a résume type list of what I've done and who I am.
I am a freelance writer who currently doesn't make enough as a freelance writer to give up a day job selling cellular telephones. I currently write for eVent! magazine in Kelowna British Columbia as well as blog at my own site. I have written for IGN.com, the Kelowna Daily Courier, Agent Magazine, various video game and entertainment websites. I am currently the captain of the Vancouver Metroblogging site and blog there on a regular basis about life in Vancouver.
I've been involved in both sides of the media business, as a writer and as an editor. I was a contributing editor for Agent Magazine Canada's first (and only) national student owned co-operative university magazine. I have also held various editorial positions at the Phoenix, the University of British Columbia: Okanagan's official student paper, including managing editor, editor-in-chief, news and opinions editor, sports editor and arts and entertainment editor. On the advertising side of things I was the British Columbia representative on the Campus Plus Board for three years, Campus Plus is the only student owned co-operative advertising agency of its kind in North America.
Moving away from my exploits as a writer, I'm an avowed Mac person and the iPod has changed my life. I love music, and movies. I watch films at theatres or catch them on DVD.
I love reading comic books and right now am particularly taken with Brian K. Vaughan's Y: the Last Man series as well as trying to see if it's physically possible to overdose on Brian Michael Bendis. My dream job would be writing for Marvel comics.
So that is me. If you've made it down to the end of this you must be my mother. Yes mom, I am watching what I eat, thanks for caring.
