About me: Welcome to Jazz 'n Liquor Burlesque; the newest Burlesque night to open in Sheffield.
Semi -organised by the relatively new to the burlesque scene, Bunny Monroe (and her multi-talented and well connected promotions dude Leroy), Jazz 'n Liquor aims to look on the lighter side of Burlesque, introduce a good few higly talented and sometimes underrated Burle-que stars and starlets, and above all, offer you a night of fun, laughter and entertainment!
Each month we'll aim to offer you something different, from the obligatory games and competitions, to handpicked bands with extremes in genre from Jazz to Psychobilly.
We also aim to give anyone who wants to give burlesque a try a chance, an opportunity for them to launch their after dark stage careers and for you to see the top talent before they make the big time.
Our DJ, Borstal Breakout (Best known for his drumming career in numerous punk bands) aims to please as many tastes as possible, as long as the songs came out before he left school...well that's what he says!
The launch event took place on Sunday 28th October at The DQ bar, Fitzwilliam Street, Sheffield, and we'll look to be staying in this venue for the forseeable future.
So keep your eyes peeled, get your sunday best out of the moth balls, and we'll see you there!
The next Jazz 'N' Liquor event is due to take place on Saturday 21st June at The Shakespeare, Gibralter Street, Sheffield.
