Jonathan Craft, born in Antwerp (Belgium) in 1974, musical background dates back from his childhood. As a teenager he was already interested in mixing music and playing musical instruments, but he starts dj’ing professionally at the age of 21, after moving to The Netherlands. Around the same time he starts record store “The Underground” with his partner and in the following years he plays at several well known clubs and parties in The Netherlands such as Funki Bizzniz, Silly Symphonies, Pizazz, Roxy, More,… to name a few and got known for his deep and eclectic style. In 1999 Jonathan was selected for The Red Bull Music Academy which took place for the second time, at Berlin. This is also the time and the place where he becomes more and more interested in the facets of producing and after little time he starts creating his own tunes. After moving back to Belgium in 2003 Jonathan starts the dj-producer project Jazztronauts, with a first release on the R.B.M.A. cd compilation “Various Assets”
(produced in cooperation with downstairs neighbour Vimster, who was also selected for the R.B.M.A in Rome). He and his partners also start organizing broken beat parties “Beats and Bubbles” in the Royal Museum of Fine Arts, and “Puzzled” at Kaaiman with guest dj’s like Bugz in the Attic, Volcov, D’Stephanie and of course Jazztronauts. Around that time he also starts a training for his certificate as sound technician, after which he also successfully completes a complementary training as studio engineer.
Today Jonathan is working on several projects (with some exiting cooperation’s by several artists to come), and is doing his first steps as a freelance studio engineer.
