Wow. The term "enabling" sure brings back memories. (At St. John's at the end of the Sophomore year, the "enabling committee" decides who will continue on to their Junior year, and who must leave.) Around 1969, my enabling year, Robert Fenton Gary, a classmate, cleverly bugged the enabling committee meeting room, and heard what each Tutor (professor) said about the more notorious students.
