Sounds Like
SOUNDZ LIKE AN ACOUSTIC IAN CURTIS TRYING 2 OUTPLAY JOHNNY CASH
MEANWHILE TONY JOE WHITE IS HAVING A BEER ON THE BAYOU!
it all began with a beat up old guitar, a blues harp, a pocketful of dreams, smalltown indifference, and the will for pastures new!
THEN! THE BIG BAD WORLD! like minded people, gigs in america(1975 , 2000 2001) gigs all over europe the british isles( SUCH A GREAT EXPLOSION IN MY LIFE!)
In the year 2000 a promoter called ian luck thought up an idea about celebrating 175 years railway history in the north east of england, i.e. George stephenson and the stockton to darlington railway( the 1st one in the world apparently)the brainchild of this was to become a cd called 'A FULL HEAD OF STEAM'. every song , a song about trains, the cd featured artists such as lindisfarne, vin garbutt, jez lowe, martin stephenson ( formerly the daintess) and myself performing my own song "trains breathing fire"
this album was deleted( i think some years ago) but there is still a website with all the details online.
Then a few years ago i signed a deal with 'spook records' a scottish indie label, i released my 1st album with 'spook' 2 years ago "the passionate pilgrim" available on itunes, amazon, and napster, among others.
hopefully i'll be moving on to the 3rd project of my musical life in october, i think the songs have a lot of gravity, almost old testament apocalypse?
Hi J.B. - many thanks for your friendship. I'll be in touch if/when I have any gig opportunities for you. Best of luck with your music in the time being!
Can't get this Bloomin' thing to werk !!! I was looking at your comment about certain Musos...very interesting. Ther's a lot of one upmanship in the open mic / Folk world...Challenge them to go busking like you go....You'll find they can't do it... They don't know the songs and have few people skills...Probably good at sweet home Alahbama... but that's it. It's a Maco thing...few Women have this. I;ll bet none have them have played in bands (I've done 3000+ gigs in the North East). I don't often play...'cos I'm crippled by stage fright....People think tho' taht I'm being superior...So you've got to get it right....A;!!
hey cheers J.B.!,,,i enjoyed listening to your songs!,,,you got a great style!,,good to know you!.....ha ha!...x factor,eh!!...what a load of tripe!!.....all the best mate!!
My company hasn't given me the leave dates that I wanted so I won't be flying back until September 16th... meaning i'll miss the Springboard evening. I hope you have a really good night though and i'm sure you'll play there again.
