Jason White knows music. The Girard, Georgia, native began playing the fiddle at 11 years old and was headlining with local musicians by the time he was 14. Though he didn’t start playing the guitar until his senior year of high school, he quickly learned the instrument and began writing original songs within two years. Playing every chance he could, Jason has performed with bands of several genres of music including bluegrass, country, blues, western swing, and classic and Southern rock.
While attending Georgia Southern University, Jason played lead and slide guitar and fiddle with local country band High Cotton who were regulars at Retriever’s in Statesboro for more than a year. Afterward, Jason formed his own band Gypsy Caravan, a bluesy, power trio who showed their influences such as Gov’t Mule, Allman Brothers, Lynyrd Skynyd, and Jimi Hendrix.
