Excalibur, the greatest sleeper movie of all time. From the early 80s, it features Patrick Stewart, Gabriel Byrne, Liam Neeson, Helen Mirren and guys have sex with wenches while still wearing their armor. | | Television | Not as much as I used to consume, but still love some of the quality offerings we have out there. The Office, Rome, The Sopranos, Entourage, Lost, The Simpsons.
Taxicab Confessions. Sure the sex talk is great. Sure, the girl-on-girl sex talk is even better. But the best was when they talked to the dude who had to deal the human vs. subway train entanglements in NYC. Disturbing and riveting.
Can I also say Battlestar Galactica and still get a date sometime during this decade? | | Books | ANECDOTAL...of course. Confessions of Max Tivoli, The Kite Runner, The Structure of Scientific Revolutions, The Giving Tree, Where the Wild Things Are, The Great Game, The Innovator's Dilemma, The Medici Effect, Songbook, Fever Pitch, John Adams, The Human Stain

About me:
It took me awhile to gather up enough courage to put up this Myspace page. It’s not because I’m embarrassed about having my profile online or intimidated by the avalanche of friend requests. It’s because my mom is a real Myspace ho and I thought she’d try to hook up with random Myspacers via my page. But I put a “parental block” on her computer, so I think we’re all safe.
I gotta think of something really good here. Gimme a minute...
Check out http://www.jbrooksdann.com to see my main blog and immerse yourself in the trials and tribulations of a first-time novelist.

Who I'd like to meet:
Writing a novel was one of the most fulfilling, but solitary times of my life. When you put in week after week of “ass time” becoming one with Microsoft word and carrying on hundreds of fictional conversations in your head, you really start to appreciate interactions with real humans.
I’ve met with a ton of book clubs about my novel Anecdotal and the experiences have definitely been some of the most fun of my life. If you have a book club and are interested in grilling an author to the point where he just curls up in the fetal position and begs for mercy, let’s definitely get together.
If you're book club is in Southern California or the SF Bay Area, we'd have lots of opportunities to meet in person. If you're outside of California, let's talk; phone-in book club sessions are great, too.
