A graduate of Kutztown University in Pennsylvania, Jonathan Budine spent the first part of his career working as a Director for multi-camera live events including Philadelphia Phillies Minor League baseball, syndicated Professional Wrestling and various other events in the Greater Philadelphia Area. He directed “Town Hall Meetings” for Tom Ridge and Rick Santorum in 1994, as well as the NASCAR Silver Bullet Softball Game and several talk shows for TNT and Discovery. His work during this time won him two Telly awards.
In 1995, Budine made his move to New York City to work as an online and avid editor at Broadway Video and Creative Group. During this time he edited national commercials, on-air promotions, and key marketing campaigns for CBS, NBC, the Food Network, Late Show with David Letterman, Survivor, The Amazing Race, Comedy Central, ESPN, HBO, Showtime and many others. As one of the original editors for MTV’s TRL, Budine was instrumental in the look, feel and pace of this top rated show.
In 2002, while at Creative Group, Jonathan was tapped to edit for Michael Moore’s Academy Award winning film “Bowling for Columbine” as well as the biographical film “The Kid Stays in the Picture”.
Drawing from experience as an editor for Saturday Night Lives infamous commercial shorts, he Co-Produced and Directed his own original short film "take out", starring Mary Ann Emerson, Debbie Rochon, Alexis Suarez. In February of 2007 Jonathan Budine co-created a mockumentary about the experience of making the short film Take Out called "Take Over: The Horror Behind The Thriller. As of January 2008, he is in post-production on his third short film starring Seamus Davey-Fitzpatrick and Joe Zaso, as well as Mary Ann Nissen-who is making her third appearance in his short films.
In August of 2007, Budine directed a music video for a hot new artist named "Esty". The video, "Take Your Love Away", premiered on YouTube on September 15th.
