The name JBXperience came from a James Brown Song entitled Mind Power. During the song Mr. Brown mentions he was going to give the world the "JB experience".

In case you didn't know why the called James Brown the Godfather of Soul:
Everyone knows how we (JB skaters) feel about the man and his music. Our club is named for him....our style is influenced by him. I'm sure you all know how much he means to JB skaters. I once told my friend Drizzy everything that's JB is not about James Brown. That's true. Of all the songs we really skate to only a small percentage are actually James Brown songs. But the bulk of the music we skate to was probably influenced by him. We're JB skaters not just because of his music, but what it represents: Energy, Soul, Rhythm, Passion, Style, Attitude. These are some of the words that sum up our style, and the man himself. Our style is the embodiment of his music. As I type these words I'm listening to "Soul Power" and thinking about "boogying". That's what we do....that's what he did.
His music isn't just what I skate to. I listen to it in my car - on my IPod - in the house. It's a part of me...it's a part of all of us. It's a part of ALL of our music. Most people don't realize how many of his song you hear every day; how many rap and R&B songs have sampled his voice or music. Most people don't realize how important he is in the music you listen to every day. If you didn't know then here are some figures:
James Brown alone has been sampled in at least 903 different Rap and R&B songs. James Brown's music has been sampled more than any other band or artist. The next closest is "Kool and the Gang" at 291. Add to this the 197 times one his bands "The J.B.'s" has been sampled. He had 55 singles in billboard's top 10. The most ever without a number one song. His song "Funky Drummer" has been sampled 182 times. "Funky President" has been sampled 100 times, and "The Payback" was sampled 65....and counting.
If you're not a JB Skater maybe you don't know what James Brown really meant to us, but hope most of you do now. On Christmas Day JB skaters hit Rich City in force to show love and pay tribute. As for me, EVERYTIME I skate it is and will be in tribute to him. And now I'll roll a little harder everytime I hear a JB.

About me: JBXperience, otherwise referred to as JBX, is a contemporary Chicago-based roller skating group that is nationally known for their crisp, precise and unique footwork. Their moves capture styles derived from R&B, Hip Hop, Soul and Funk with the essence of Chicago stepping. JBX has performed both locally and nationally in parade's, at charity skating events and also had a cameo roll in the 2005 Fox Searchlight motion picture Roll Bounce. This talented group of men and women have a great passion for what they do and it shows in their artistic style and skillful exhibition of moves.
