About me: NEW WORKS BY Michael Swann, J. Calton Watters and Celeste LaBorde
Me Woman. Artist. Mother. Wife. Lover. Survivor. Achiever. Teacher. Student. Faulty, striving, everpondering human being... living.
My art
Paintings mostly. Oil. Figures. Look at the pictures. Message me for pricing.
My survival
Teaching art. Selling my art. Commissions that run the gamut from oils to nursery walls.
My heart
belongs to me. Is a satellite to the ones who truly love me most. Suffers when it sees innocence abused. Leads me.
My thoughts
Introspective. observant. worth sharing, but not unless you want them.
My refrigerator magnet
this is what you shall do: love the earth and sun and the animals, despise riches, give alms to every one that asks, stand up for the stupid and the crazy, devote your income and labor to others, hate tyrants, argue not concerning god, have patience and indulgence toward the people, take off your hat to nothing known or unknown or to any number of men, go freely with powerful uneducated persons, and with the young and with the mothers of families, read these leaves in the open air of every season of every year of your life, re-examine all that you have been told at school or church or in any book, dismiss whatever insults your own soul, and your very flesh shall be a great poem...
Who I'd like to meet: A kinder, gentler, more rested, less stressed me.
The maker. Einstein A person who has never lied My grandmother's mother, Minnie, who was burned badly in a fire, and whose hair was red, but after the fire, grew back jet black.
Nonjudgmental folks. Positive folks.
A rich philanthropic person who admires my art and personal goals and feels an irrestable desire to put faith in me and finance my artistic and civic endeavors

Yes, we're almost certain that prom night is already the most horrible memory you have. Your boyfriend rented a cheap tux and showed up looking like a bartender from the Love Boat, your girlfriend was abducted by militant members of the volleyball team, your mother and father volunteered as chaperones only to be caught making out half-undressed under the bleachers by the yearbook photographer — hell, you probably didn't even go to the prom as a political protest against the authoritarianism of the student council prom committee who voted not to let you wear your favorite Ramones t-shirt.
Well, here's your chance to make prom the most horrific you could imagine... your way!
SWYD: Prom of Doom
Saturday July 25 • Matthew's on Morris Ave., Birmingham
You rock! I miss being around your positivity. You are just one of those type people that makes others happy. You always make the best out of the worst. That's why we all love you. Let me know when you can break lose from your crazy scheduel and have lunch. Maybe i could come to one of your art classes or even belly dancimg class. I really need something to do other then work and school. Love ya girl, thanks!
Ever wondered what to do in the event of a nuclear threat?
A while ago I found stuff that inspired me to make this film:
Living Under the Shadow of the Nuclear Umbrella
Both artistic (ensure you get the background music!) and educational, it primarily comprises official British government civil defence advice.
Though source materials are quite aged, much remains relevant today.
I encourage all to visit the YouTube page to learn more (Show support! Rate! Comment!) and responsibly circulate as widely as possible, here: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=UaIim3Rj7L4
Bonnaroo 2009 ... What an amazing time!!! Thank you so much for my purple bandaid painting!!!!!!! I love it, and you couldn't have given it to me at a more appropriate time. It was much needed!!!
