Hey! I’m inviting you to come and see my photos at the 2009 edition of the Codigo Pais Festival, from March 11th till 15th at the Tribuna Plaza in Palermo!
The critically endangered New Zealand Fairy Tern, (Sterna nereis davisae), currently less than 40 birds, 10 breeding pairs.Early 1980's there were 4 breeding pairs.
This is the male of a successful breeding pair this season, at Pakiri Beach
Two fledglings born christmas eve, here at about 7 weeks old.
Conservation efforts include having wardens thru the breeding season at the 3 nesting sites, taping off of breeding areas, trapping preditors that eat the eggs [that are laid on the beach], and to educate beachgoers.
