Yes, I know that makes me a dork. I'm fine with that, my wife is fine with it, my son is fine with it, and my dogs could care less.
My current research focus at Longwood Univeristy is on the chemical synthesis of nanoscale materials. In my lab we grow nanowires (~50 nm diameter) of semiconducting materials using room-temperature electrochemistry and characterize their behavior with large-scale I-V measurments and nano-scale measurments using Atomic Force Microscopy (AFM), Conducting AFM (CAFM), and Scanning Electron Microscopy (SEM).
