Between the world of men and transcendent divinity there exists art. Art is the will to truth made physically manifest. It is more real than reality, it is a dialogue triumphant over time."
SENSUALISM- is a style of painting devoted to the expression of sensuality. Sensualism adapts as its philosophy the empirical theory of knowledge, in which sensation (feelings) and perception (experience) are the most important forms of true cognition and the source of all our ideas. This style is inspired by the sensual beauty found in classical painting and color photography. It uses traditional painting techniques such as blending, layering and glazing to create meticulously rendered images that give form to emotions and comments on society’s excessive devotion to pleasure and abundance. Many people confuse the terms sensuality and sexuality, thinking they are synonymous. Sensuality is something much broader. Beginning with awareness, sensuality encompasses the exploration of all our senses. I believe that there is a vast sea of pre-rational emotions, urges, instincts and fantasies that fill our minds before structured thought emerges. It is in this swamp of irrationality that many of the most powerful artistic impulses are generated.
I can listen to all kinds of music and enjoy it. but i do have favorite genres. i really enjoy the energy u find in rock, punk and metal. I love the passion of flamenco. also, the melancholy of classical music is a driving force in my creative process. When im overwhelmed with joy i tend to listen to dance, especially techno and rave. big fan of old shool hip pop. The power vocals of Chris Cornell.
Anything that David Lynch makes is magic. I like old David chrononber films like the fly. When i was a teen i really enjoyed slasher/horror films. The Friday the 13th and nightmare on elm street series are classics i enjoyed. for a while i also collected action movies. Anything Sylvester Stallone was in, i saw. my favorites where the Rocky and Rambo films.
Get to know JC Bravo with JC's Q & A
So who is JC Bravo?
I am an artist. I paint voluptuos women and funny looking little men. These characters i call CABEZONES y NARIZONES. They are inspired by derogatory terms used in latin american cultures. For example, calling someone a Cabezon (large head) would typically imply that that person is stubborn or foolish. Likewise, Narizon (large nose)would imply impotence. I use these characters to create social commentary mainly dealing with vice and folly. I work in a style of painting which is called SENSUALISM.This style is characterized by rich color, roundness, the illusion of softness and voluptuous forms.
Where are you located?
Well, I’ve practically lived in Miami beach, Florida all my life. Originally though, I was born in Peru. I’m very proud of my heritage. In fact, most of who I am is due to my family’s cultural upbringing. Those formative years in Peru, filled with terrorism and political crisis, have had a lasting impression on me and have somehow found their way into my art
What are your hobbies?
I’m a avid reader dealing with topics about the human condition. I also write about various things. However, nothing else (other than my art) fulfills me more than surfing. Most of my days are spent painting from dawn until sunset. But every so often, when the waves are breaking, ill take some time off work to go surfing. I love the beach and could never part from it for too long. It inspires me. The ocean is like our subconscious, when you jump into it you enter another world, a world of wonder and beauty.
Have you studied?
Since childhood, I’m glad to say I've always had a natural talent. But I wanted to explore the depth of my abilities. So, I’m proud to say I became a student of my passion and gone as far to earn a bachelors in ART with a minor in psychology. Also, ive travelled to some of the greatest museums in the world to learn from the masters.

No matter your Sun sign, this Sagittarian time of year features competitive activities of all sorts, generosity and warmth of spirit, lots of socialization, journeys or other explorations that frequently open you up to new ideas or new experiences, and unexpected outbursts of passion (good or bad) that usually do not indicate long term feelings or states of mind. Negatively, it can be a time where meanness, pettiness, and stinginess appear in people, where humans can suddenly be revealed to be incredibly self-serving and egotistical, and some very grand delusions may become obvious. You may be confronted with the knowledge that you have been used or that you have been using others. Gambling and risky behavior is more prominent at this time...though the success of that choice is not guaranteed.
The Sagittarii were actually horse-mounted archers of the ancient world, and thus the frequent idea that the creature and constellation Sagittarius is a Centaur. The most skilled and feared mounted archers were the ancient Parthians, notorious for appearing to be in retreat, luring the enemy to follow, and then twisting their bodies around in the saddle to fire a fatal shot: the "Parthian Shot." From this comes the familiar expression the "parting shot," dealt cruelly and adeptly after a conversation is thought finished.

Love never dies a natural death.
It dies because we don't know how
to replenish its source.
It dies of blindness and errors and betrayals.
It dies of illness and wounds;
It dies of weariness, of withering, of tarnishing.
