Jeff "J-Dub" Wood is a rapper/producer who has been involved in music for several years now. He writes, produces, and engineers all of his own material. He also writes and produces for several local artists. After doing some work with other artists as a group, J-Dub decided to stay to himself and remain a solo artist. This is where he says that the best of his work comes out. It is after being a solo artist that he received the nickname The King, because of his domineering presence on the microphone. This name led to J-Dub starting his own musical crew called the Royal Family. A crew in which he is seen as the king of the group. Most of the members of the Royal Family are solo artists as well but they also all come together to make collaborative work.
J-Dub has performed at several venues in the Los Angeles area including B.B. King's in Universal City. Not only does J-Dub produce for himself and other artists, but some of his productions have even been featured in Irv Gotti's VH1 reality show "Gotti's Life".
J-Dub is very serious about his craft. He has graduated from an audio recording school where he studied to perfect his work as an engineer and train his ear. He also graduated from a Cal. State University where he received his bachelors degree in audio recording as well.
Early in 2008 J-Dub released his first independent solo album entitled 'My Throne'. The album features appearances by a other Royal Family artists. The album is available for free download on his myspace page located at www.myspace.com/jdub4life. J-Dub received lots of street credit with his underground hits "Fitted", which is selling in the iTunes Music Store, "So Bad (Daddy's Little Girl)" & "All In".
In December of 2008 J-Dub will release his second independent release entitled 'Grow With Me'. The album features the singles "Unbeatable" and "Ride Along". According to J-Dub, "This album gives more of an insight into who I really am". He continues, "My last album was good. But this one is one that I will be forever proud of." For his second release in one year, J-Dub plans to show why he will forever be a stable facet in hip hop. Led by the hit singles "Unbeatable" and "Ride Along", this album is a must have!
