**For all business matters contact me at jdukerocks@yahoo.com** Jeremy 'J-Duke' Legard, also known as 'Duke Major' to some, was born on June 7th 1990 in San Diego, California. He began attending SDSCPA, a performing arts school in the neighborhood of Paradise Hills, in the 7th grade. It was there where he was inspired to begin rapping after witnessing a freestyle battle at lunch in front of the whole school. He began writing and battling his peers at school, on the bus, and even at church. After discovering a free online beat making program in the 10th grade, Jeremy began creating original beats and writing songs to them. He always wrote songs since he was 8 years old and was inspired by all kinds of music ranging from Old School to Pop. As a result of his comedic antics, Jeremy was often compared to Will Smith on the popular television show "Fresh Prince of Bel Air". Within his clique of friends, he gained the name 'J-Duke' in early 2005. It was short for 'Juiced Duke of Daygo' which was a play on the title of the television show. He and a close friend created the name. With a new found identity and a hunger for success in the music industry, J-Duke began recording songs on his father's computer and putting them on MySpace in the summer of 2006. He began gaining popularity through the site in the summer of 2008 due to the non-stop promotion that he and Jonie B. engaged in. His popularity continued to grow in 2009 through Twitter as well as through an underground radio station called "Jerkin Radio". A well known entrepreneur and barber named Terry Spears, better known as 'Pretty-boy Terry', saw potential in the young artist and began managing him in late 2009. The two began working hard to conquer the music scene in San Diego as well as the Los Angeles area. It wasn't until a fellow San Diego artist named Gee Gee B. Stone introduced J-Duke to a local upcoming producer named Ryan Anthony that he started recording studio quality songs in early 2010. J-Duke began collaborating with the talented producer to create the highly anticipated mixtape: "Sleepin' In Class". "I feel like I'm one of the best, if not THE best coming out of my city, but I don't get the respect I deserve. They sleep on me," J-Duke says. The mixtape is directed to J-Duke's haters and those who underestimate the young artist. He plans to release it sometime in 2011.
