About Jeana Leslie & Siobhan Miller
Jeana Leslie and Siobhan Miller are two very talented, shining new stars on the Scottish Music scene. Since winning the BBC Radio 2 Young Folk Award 2008 it has been a whirlwind rise for the young Scots duo who combine instrumental versatility with sublime harmonies and heart-rending performances of traditional songs. Their debut album, ‘In a Bleeze’ which was released in the summer last year was received exceptionally well with plenty of airplay both in Scotland and England earning them the award for ‘Up and Coming Artist Of The Year’ at the MG ALBA Awards 2008 and a nomination in the ‘Horizon’ category for the BBC Folk Awards 2009 and also winning the Hancock ‘Horizon Award for Best Newcomer’ in 2009.

The pure harmonies and innovative arrangements of traditional and modern songs on their debut album are a joy to listen to and a wonderful contribution to the Scottish music scene. Jeana’s fiddle playing has the light, melodic touch typical of Orcadian tradition, while Siobhan's traditional singing style shows strong Lowland influences. The pair mix the traditions seamlessly and, in the process, combine them with their musical talents to create something unique.

Jeana and Siobhan met at the Royal Scottish Academy of Music and Drama where they are both currently in their honours year doing a BA in Scottish Music.

Together the girls have performed on radio and TV, at folk clubs all over the UK and at many large festivals including Cambridge, Cropredy, Towersey, Celtic Connections and Orkney.

Girls, Thanks for your lovely comment. We really enjoyed the craic in Marymass. It is a long time since I heard such great much and met so many nice people. It was sad to leave ye all behind. Hope we can return the friendship when you come to Ireland. No problem with accomodation and we'll organise a couple of sessions and a few bags of chips. Your Dad welcome to join ye, if he would like to. Love from all of us. Liam Snr.

Jeana Leslie & Siobhan Miller:
I'm feeling happy as a lark to have you singing like two tuneful cicadas at their best in full summertime here on My Space site. "Saints and sinners" is a far-out song and has been winning me over, albeit the others are all beautiful too. My ears are rather demanding and tuneful, however your two marvelous voices, like hands in a glove, and the most perfect pair, have certainly
been beguiling my sensibility. What on earth must I do to get an original copy of your so fabulous CD? I will be proud if you could, in your spare time, hear out my simple provincial songs displayed and available here on My Space site. Any edifying comments coming from musical referential personalities such as you, will be welcomed.
Please, accept a fraternal musical embrace from your admirer down here in Minas Gerais, heart of Brazil,

Taquinho Noronha

What glorious sounds doth issue from those lips! You're wonderful. Your music makes me want to cry, dance, run to a friend and embrace, then twirl in circles, fall down, and laugh, lay in the grass, and watch the clouds go by, forget time. Thank you.
