The Lighthouse Emotional Wellness Center is located in downtown Arlington Heights and was founded by Ray and Jean Kadkhodaian in 2002 initially to provide a more progressive approach to working with couples.
Since its birth, the Lighthouse has grown to include both personal growth and emotional healing for individuals and families. By increasing and combining a variety of services that are both traditional and complimentary, a powerful holistic model has been designed to promote lasting change.

Who I'd like to meet: About the Owners: Ray Kadkhodaian, MA, CAC, LCPC(President & CEO)- attended Creighton University where he graduated with a BA in Psychology. After graduation he moved back to Chicago and attended Roosevelt University's master's program in Clinical Psychology as well as the International Coach Academy based in Australia and is a member of the International Association of Coaches. Ray is also pursuing his doctorate in Clinical Pyschology at Argosy University in Schaumburg.
His experience in mental health is extensive encompassing both inpatient, outpatient and community mental health settings. He has worked with adults, teens and children in all areas of personal development.
Ray works from the premise that the only thing you have control over is the immediate present. In relation to what you are doing "now", nothing else matters. Ray believes that men and women are very different. We learn different, we think different and we go through changes differently. With this as his focus he has developed a powerful way of working with men to become successful businessmen, fathers, husbands and people.

Jean Kadkhodaian, MA, CH, Rev.(Clinical Director)- after an honorable discharge from serving in the US Army, Jean attended Northern Illinois University where she graduated with a BA in psychology and then attended Roosevelt University for her Master's. Always searching for more effective and less painful ways to invoke change she beame a certified hypnotherapist in 2002.
This opened up an opportunity to explore the relationship between the conscious and subconscious minds, which was a turning point in her approach to working with people and effecting change. From here she developed a powerful multi-disciplinary approach to working with her clients that produces consistent effective change in a short period of time.
Using coaching, psychological and holistic tools, her clients' lives are radically different in just 3 months.

This is why we can see the mistakes of others but rarely with the same insight into our own lives...by having an exernal source such as a coach or therapist we can see ourselves from a different perspective. What Jean wants most for her clients is for them to realize and fully connect to the limitless potential they have inside and then to use this wisdom to make empowered choices to become conscious creators of a life they deserve. Jean believes everything happens for a reason and it is not our job to ask why did this happen to me but rather to ask what am I supposed to learn from this? There is a reason that horse manure grows strong healthy plants...the crap in your life will make you strong too...if you let it.

I'm so happy for your piece on FOX. I really can't believe how much the lighthouse has grown before my eyes so I know its an accomplishment for you to see!! Keep it up and I am elated to be a part of such a wonderful team of healers :)
