Sounds LikeI sound like....me! Seriously, I always find it hard to describe who I sound like but someone once compared me to Amy Sky - in print. I take that as a compliment as I love her voice.    About Jeanette Arsenault
Jeanette Arsenault is passionate about connecting people - to themselves, to others and to God through her music. She writes from her soul and sings from her heart, as someone once described her. Her songs are about women, social issues, patriotism, spiritual journeys but also include some quirky, laugh out loud views of life. Jeanette’s most recent album, “Women of the World” is an album of celebration and empowerment of women. “These are songs for women and all men who love women”, she says with a laugh. Being true to its title track name, this CD includes Jeanette’s original songs along with songs from 5 Canadian women songwriters; Amazing Grace is sung by her 85 year old neighbour and “I Can Touch The Sky” is sung by her young daughter. There is also a French song which is a salute to Canadian heroines of history. 2 songs that are capturing the most attention are the title track, “Women of the World” as well as “Angel In Disguise”. The title track has just been translated into French and Spanish and soon it will be translated into Italian for BPW International. “Angel In Disguise” was written to give a voice to women around the world suffering the ravages of AIDS and has just been included on an African Intranet network. Jeanette is Canadian, a very proud Canadian, with deep Acadian roots. Both her parents are of French Acadian descent going back to 1604 when they were the first European settlers in North America. She sang with all her passion for her country for the Canadian Olympic Team both in Salt Lake City in 2002 and in Athens, Greece in 2004 for which she was commissioned to write “Canadian Olympian/Olympien Canadien”. She also sang another song she wrote, “This Is My Canada/Mon cher Canada” which she had written back in 1992 during the first Referendum in Quebec. “I was so angry to hear all the rhetoric by people who wanted to tear Canada apart", she says. “I sat in my living room and literally cried as I wrote the chorus”, she continues. Having independently released 4 albums and 1 album for digital downloads only, while being a full time stay-at-home Mom certainly has had its challenges. Jeanette found out she was pregnant in the middle of recording her first album in 1994. So, she made the decision to raise her daughter and nurse her career along at the same time. Her goal was to work as much as she could in the local market and she succeeded. Fast forward to her daughter now in High School, it’s now time to step outside the local boundary lines & into the boundary-less world of a global market.

Hey Jeanette, Thanks for adding me as a friend. I already knew that. I played Katie twice on my show. Once by mistake. But as I say - A good song is worth listening to twice. Jerry
