About Jeanie Barton

Jazz singer songwriter Jeanie Barton was born in Nottingham, England. Having studied jazz harmony at Morley College in London and bebop improvisation with BBC Jazz award winner Anita Wardell, Jeanie cut her teeth as singer & compere for bebop pioneer Laurie Morgan and his trio, fronting their famous North London weekly gig, Downstairs at The King’s Head in Crouch End for over a decade. She went on to support Georgie Fame, sing backing vocals for Luddy Samms (The Drifters)and front Al Wynette’s band at the 606 Club. Credit’s include performances at The Jazz Cafe, Ronnie Scott’s and The National Theatre, as well as a cruise on the Seine in Paris. She is proud to work regularly with some of the best musicians on the British Jazz scene today, gigging to increasing acclaim with her quartet and other ensembles.

To date Jeanie has released two records; an EP of popular standards called "Jazz and Cocktails" and her self penned album "The Magical Mirror" the title track of which is about her late father.
