Jeanie Pierce is a professional flutist and educator in Phoenix, Arizona. She holds a Bachelor of Music from the University of Montana, a Master of Music from the University of New Mexico, and a Doctor of Musical Arts from Arizona State University. Her career includes teaching positions at colleges, universities, and community arts schools and performing positions as the principal flutist with professional and community bands and orchestras as well as numerous chamber groups. ___________________________________________________ Jeanie is currently on the FACULTY of Estrella Mountain Community College in Avondale, Arizona where she teaches Music Humanities Classes in classical, jazz, and popular music. Jeanie regularly organizes arts events and educational programs for EMCC focusing on cultural diversity and social awareness. ____________________________________________________ As a FLUTIST, Jeanie has performed at the National Flute Association Convention in San Diego, Las Vegas, and Phoenix. She is currently the principal flutist with the Musica Nova Orchestra of Scottsdale, Arizona and was a regular featured soloist with the Chandler Symphony while serving as their principal flutist. Jeanie also teaches flute at her studios in Phoenix and Tempe, Arizona and directs the Sonoran Flute Consort. ___________________________________________________ Jeanie’s latest PROJECT, Music In Our World, is a community engagement project bringing multicultural music education programs and live music performances to schools, community organizations, and various public venues performed and presented by a collective group of professional musicians and educators playing a variety of classical, jazz, and popular music styles. The project was developed in collaboration with Jason Mosall, classical and jazz trumpet player and music educator.
