Chanteur et joueur de vielle à roue, Jean LEGER, issu de la tradition musicale du Morvan (BOURGOGNE),il s'est d'abord intéressé aux musiciens et chanteurs issus de la tradition régionale, s'attachant à transmettre sur scène ce répertoire qu'il a mis à jour, puis se tournant vers la création inspirée de cette tradition ; il compose pour la vielle à roue, comme par exemple des musiques sur les textes de son vieux complice, le conteur, chanteur et musicien Jean-Loup BALY. Comme l'indique le titre, il s'agit d'une musique forgée au feu de l'authenticité, une musique qui tient plus de l'élan que du bilan. Le répertoire, tiré du patrimoine morvandiau-bourguignon, est enrichi de compositions nouvelles dont la stylistique ne dénote à aucun moment. Epaulé par une belle brochette de virtuoses (Pierre Hervé, Christophe Raillard, Didier Gris, Jean-Loup Baly, Anne, Agnès et Antoine Léger), Jean Léger vous taille, à la vielle de précision, une douzaine de tranches, toutes délicatement ornementées, épurées et sans surcharge pondérale. Supported by a virtuosos' beautiful spit (Pierre Hervé, Christophe Raillard, Didier Gris, Jean-Loup Baly, Anne, Agnès and Antoine Léger), Jean Léger cuts you, in the hurdy-gurdy of precision, a dozen slices, quite delicately ornamented, purified and without excess weight. The music makes slowly its work and imposes its quiet charm, without ostentation, without throwing you height ears.
