The Experiment -- a review.
Dark, disturbing, bleak.
Flash fiction is one of the most difficult and unforgiving mediums to work in. You have a limited number of words to effectively tell a complete story; begining, middle and end. To find a writer that can not only achieve that difficult goal, but who does so in a truly effective manner is a real treat indeed.
Jeanna Tendean's "The Experiment" is a thoroughly enjoyable read that plunges you into darkness as you become trapped with the protagonist Elaine and follow the gradual disturbing disintegration of her psyche as she battles starvation and madness.
The emotional roller coaster ride never relents as it takes you from the hope of rescue into the depths of unrelenting despair. You know you're reading something a bit special when you find yourself disgusted at the lengths a character goes to merely to survive and at the same time your heart is slowly breaking for her.
So go ahead.
Treat yourself to this dark gem of horror fiction.
You won't regret it, but you might have bad dreams for a while afterwards.

"I'm pretty laid back most of the time, although I can be moody every now and then. I am passionate about "little" things like all the starving children in third world countries, starving children in America, homeless people, the pregnant girl down the street who walks it, the bum in town who carries the END OF THE WORLD sign in one hand and carries a vodka bottle in the other, the latchkey kid around the block who never sees her mom, people who have no one who loves them, stray cats and dogs, rainy days, foggy nights, fishing, good writing and writing good, reading, dreaming, laughing, seafood, the color blue, horror novels and stories and movies, things like that. But most of all, I'm passionate about my two boys. Jacob Allen and Noah Alexander carry my heart in their pockets - no matter what they put in there with it. I miss you sooo much Jacob."
Who I'd like to meet:
Stephen King, Jack Ketchum, J.K. Rowlings, Morgan Freeman.
Writers, readers and anyone interested in horror...

Hi! Just wanted to make sure all my friends know that my new erotic horror novel THE 13TH is now in stores everywhere! I hope you'll check out this debauched and demonic horror ride!
There's even a website devoted just to the book, with an interactive map of the places and characters at www.the13th-horror.com.
Edward Lee called THE 13TH "A double-barreled shotgun blast of macabre entertainment -- an expert amalgamation of grotesquerie, eroticism, mystery, and pitch-black occult horror that no fan of the genre can miss."
And Gary A. Braunbeck said, "John Everson's The 13th is the first out-and-out horror novel in a long while to actually scare the **** out of me while reading it. It's stylish, extremely well-written, filled with richly-drawn characterizations, and boasts a labyrinthine plot worthy of Umberto Eco. Trust me -- this one will fry your nerves and break your heart."
It hurt! LOL... Not bad, but close. It was bareable, but there were a few times, for a few seconds, where it almost became unbareable. LOL... It was really worth it though.
Hello my friend, Mind shadows is now an e-book. Log onto www.Lulu.com and order your copy. It's less expensive and no wait for delivery; just download and read!
Thanks for your interest and support!

A novel writer is sitting down to write. He has all the tools to do it with: pencils, erasers, paper, typewriter, and his imagination. However, he is unaware that his imagination will get the best of him and will run rampage. The very characters that he creates will torment him, driving him to a state of mind that will disable him from distinguishing fiction from reality.
So nice of you to drop by . . . we should keep in touch more often. I'm a bit busy this week so no writing, but plenty of revisions on the first round of publisher edits on October Rain and organising promotional stuff for Hosts.
I can relax from Thursday . . . birthday celebrations in Rome -- should be fun!
