After a calm start in the final months of 2007, the storm surrounding the band Jean Parlette broke lose in 2008. De intriging formation consiting of a laptop, cello, falmencoguitar and rhodespiano conquered the hearts of Dutch musiclovers in an enchanting fashion. With over 70 shows, highlights were prestigious festivals like Oerol, Motel Mozaïque, Noorderzon and the Affaire and the well-known clubs like Vera and Paradiso, the band claimed astounishing reviews.
Their album ‘Much Younger’ was gained a place in the spotlights of practicly every musicmagazine. OOR magazine called it ‘a magnificent debute, FRET entiteled the album as ‘a small masterpiece’ en on the online listening section of 3VOOR12 the album was constantly given five stars. International online ditributer CD Baby rewarded it with five stars and a place in the editor's picks.
Jean Parlette proves not to be a just a fad by their healthy calendar en the many special projects the band is doing. The new video-perfomance ‘het verlangen van jean parlette’ that was presented at the Noorderzon festival for the first time is a per.. example. Jean Parlette blew a breath of fresh air through the Dutch clubs by not overrunnig the audience with aggression and audial violence, but by opening the door to their nostalgic dreamworld just far enough for people to silently sneak in.
