Fronted by the actor Jericho Rosales himself, JEANS is a band with a fusion of jazz, pop and rock. Asked why Jeans as the band's name, Jericho answered, "Like jeans, our music is comfortable and fits everybody. Our music touches all areas of human emotions. I chose the term 'Loose Fit' because the music here is loose, feels cool and it had a connection with Jeans." Joining Manila Genesis' roster of musical talents, obviously Jeans is serious at making a mark in the music industry.

Playing elaborate instrumental music with a slight touch of progressive rock, free jazz and jazz-funk, backing Jericho up in the band are guitarist Dan Cerenado, bassist Jude Manota and Aaron Ace Manio on drums. Musically, the band draws musical influences which vary from John Mayer's acoustic prowess, Phoenix's lounge-y pop rock, Jay Kay's funky flavor to U2's classic rock.

As for their debut in the music scene, Jean's initial offering LOOSE FIT consists of songs that remarkably show Jericho's vocals go from subtle to in-your-face, as do the guitar riffs. The lyrics are highly emotional and earnest in their delivery. LOOSE FIT was first distributed in Malaysia in March 2006, as Jeans was signed under EMI Malaysia. This September 2006, Jeans releases their debut album in the Philippines through EMI Philippines with NGAYONG GABI as their first single. NGAYONG GABI was penned by Jericho himself. In fact all 14 songs in the album were written by the prolific artist. The production of the remixed Philippine version was supervised by award-winning Mon Espia with no less than Mr. Pure Energy Gary Valenciano as production consultant and percussionist in one of the cuts. Adding icing to the package is a simple but touching duet with Jericho's real-life sweetheart Heart Evangelista.

Jericho's love for music came first before acting. But his chosen path in acting made him successful indeed and brought him to where he is today. As he walks through his journey, he discovered new passions and explored new musical horizons. But more importantly, showbiz fed his musical spirit. It introduced him to other musical forms and genres, as he slowly began to find and develop his own sound. He began listening to the likes of Frank Sinatra, Doris Day, Aretha Franklin, progressing into instrumental jazz as he started collecting the best of Blue Notes, known for their blues and jazz artists. So, while he entertained us with his impeccable acting, behind the scenes, he was working on his music.

Jericho began singing professionally several years ago as part of the Hunks, a group of male celebrities who toured around the globe. Then Jericho and Dan began forming a band in 2004. "Echo and I are long time friends, we both started the band. We met in 'Sana'y Wala Nang Wakas' at the taping back in February of 2004 and since then we started jamming around with my acoustic guitar and with his surf boards too. We had a lot of fun back then making music and surfing together. That's the time when the song "Comin' Out" and "Night Sky" were composed (acoustic version) I taught him how to play and strum a few chords with my guitar and he taught me how to ride in his surfboards as well" Dan Serenado, the band's guitarist shared.

On January 2005, the members finally came to form a band and started with nights jamming at a studio in Quezon City. However, a day after they were formed, the members experienced their very first television appearance as "JEANS" in a morning show then called "Morning Star" at ABS CBN. And the rest is history.

The musical journey has begun and will continue showcasing in Jericho's own unique brand of the "Manila sound." Everybody involved with them, the band, seems to have gone through great lengths to let us know that this is about the band first, the singer second, and the fact that the singer is Jericho Rosales third. Jeans has finally made him the great musician that he was meant to be.
