Bio
Began studying 'cello at age 8, continuing through college. Studied Theory and Composition, and Electronic Music at Northern Illinois University from 1974-77. Joined I.R.S. Records recording artist Wazmo Nariz in 1978 as keyboardist, which toured the United States and Europe both as headliner, and in support of such groups as The Police, Devo, XTC and the B-52s. The band was dissolved in 1981. Relocated from the Chicago area in 1983 to Los Angeles. Working with Larry Grennan a.k.a. Wazmo Nariz, played keyboards on, an arranged "Yahoo EEEE!" and "Kramtorn Avenges the Puttbundles", both composed by Mr. Grennan, and appearing in the Jonathan Demme films "Something Wild" (1986) and "Married To The Mob" (1988) respectively. "Yahoo EEEE" was released as a 12" single on Big Time Records in 1986. In 1993, composed music for Super Illusion, which toured 11 cities throughout Japan with the Bolshoi Circus from Moscow, Russia. Before traveling to Belarus and Russia later that year, composed music for Horror Illusion, which played at the Holiday Spa Health Resort in Japan and featured magician Greg Wilson. Played keyboards on the Stan Ridgway song "Right Through You" from the album "Partyball" (Geffen Records, 1991). In 1994, composed music for magician Franz Harary's segment of the NBC special The Worlds Greatest Magic, which aired November 23 of that year. Composed music for Mr. Harary's live performances. Blank Stare created the 3D Animation Long Ago Down Below which, in 1998, showed at the CSUN Animation Festival, and won the Bronze Award at Worldfest Houston. In 1999, Blank Stare created motion graphics for the film Three Strikes. In 2003, returned to electronic music composition, collaborating with wife, Mona Jean Cedar (PAS d'ASL) to create Burning Bird, which was performed at the 2003 Burning Man Festival. In 2004, began the first of several collaborations with choreographer Rudy Perez.
