Jeff Christie's band Christie made the top of the charts all round the world in 1970 with the monster hit Yellow River, a classic of the pop era.
Other follow-up hits include San Bernadino and Iron Horse. Man of Many Faces was a big sucess in Germany and SE Asia, and Navajo topped the Mexican charts.
Before Yellow River, Jeff had formed the Outer Limits, a group which had garnered much critical praise and whose song Just One More Chance is now regarded as a shining example of blue-eyed soul.
After Christie split up in 1976, Jeff continued to record on his own and is considered one of the UK's finest songwriters.
In 2007, the entire Christie canon was released on two CDs, and in 2008, Jeff's solo work and his Outer Limits songs were released on a double CD set.
In 2009, Jeff's reformed Christie is gigging extensively throughout Europe.
And 2010 marks the 40th anniversary of Yellow River. Stay tuned for more exciting developments.
Hey, having listened to "Freewheelin' Man" three times over, I must admit it's a good song and it's still getting better. Solid guitar style, good voice, I am curious to hear some more. You're in possession of substancial creative potential, and, I'm sure, the best is yet to come. Have a creative time!
