All of you who make it to our shows and support live music! Thanks.
“He (Steve McLain) has assembled a hip pocket rockin’ band that is anything but green.” JIMMY MOORE.
The JCGB has become one of the most popular bands in the Midwest. Their music is roots rock, infused with an outlaw flare and they are recently celebrating the release of their second CD offering, "Who Took The Wheel". Front man Steve McLain has one of those rare voices that never misses the mark, and a good-vibes personality that is humble, confident and electrifying.
Whether cutting loose at an all-day outdoor music festival, a college, a bike rally, a main stage, or a tavern—this is a band guaranteed to lift your spirits and get your feet moving with their irrepressibly tight musicianship and down-home esprit de corps.
Live shows are a powerful mix of original tunes with Rock, Blues, Folk, Country and Reggae classics. The band incorporates the themes of love, pride, community, and conservation in their creative mix. It is music played from the heart that goes straight to the heart; that makes you feel good, happy to be alive, elevates your soul and makes you want to come back for more.

Hey JCGB, I've got a radio show for a few weeks - so, please tune into the Paul Hughes Show (filling in for Gordon Hotchkiss) on Celtic Music Radio this Wednesday between 7pm – 9pm UK time. As well a Scottish, Irish and American folk/roots music I’ll be chatting with Paddy Callaghan about being selected for the finals of the BBC Young Trad Musician of the Year and hear him playing the harp and box. Celtic Music Radio is available in and around Glasgow on 1530 AM (MW) and you can listen anywhere else in the world on the internet at www.celticmusicradio.net and click on “Listen Live” in the top right of the screen. Thanks for reading down this far.

For anyone who missed our show at the Ragbrai party show friday ya missed an epic drum solo by Mr. Dave Hurlin' our drummer from another summer. He played a solo on the helmets of several of the bicyclists....I doubt they'll ever forget it....... having participated in several past 'Hurlin Helmet Solo's' I can best describe havin Dave using our hard hats as percussion instruments as being like attacked on the head by a rabid woodpecker on crack...... a peak experience to say the least. Y'all dont fergit the slice of Green Band hisory happenin' Friday at the Sondheim Center. Stevie McLain is openin' fer legendary songwriter Greg Brown. It's $17.00 to get in....... Which is fine..... Cuz there's a whole lotta money in Fairfield....... etc... Greg Brown is severely cool. Steve Mclain & company are excruciatingly cool also........ (no bias here).... Love to see ya there. Have a great week.
WooHoo! JCGB at Knoxville openin' fer Joey & Rory tonight at the County Fair!......My guess.........it's gonna be cool. See y'all there..........n' stuff...........
