All of you who make it to our shows and support live music! Thanks.
“He (Steve McLain) has assembled a hip pocket rockin’ band that is anything but green.” JIMMY MOORE.
The JCGB has become one of the most popular bands in the Midwest. Their music is roots rock, infused with an outlaw flare and they are recently celebrating the release of their second CD offering, "Who Took The Wheel". Front man Steve McLain has one of those rare voices that never misses the mark, and a good-vibes personality that is humble, confident and electrifying.
Whether cutting loose at an all-day outdoor music festival, a college, a bike rally, a main stage, or a tavern—this is a band guaranteed to lift your spirits and get your feet moving with their irrepressibly tight musicianship and down-home esprit de corps.
Live shows are a powerful mix of original tunes with Rock, Blues, Folk, Country and Reggae classics. The band incorporates the themes of love, pride, community, and conservation in their creative mix. It is music played from the heart that goes straight to the heart; that makes you feel good, happy to be alive, elevates your soul and makes you want to come back for more.

Here's his blog entry after his last visit to Fairfield to visit my older bro Mike....I was in Aspen....(curses!)... It's...well it's frikkin' cool.... later y'all. It's Spring...come out and party with us..... http://tonywolf.wordpress.com/2009/04/04/visiting-michael/

Git up, get out and party tomorrow night. Hope to see y'all there.
What are you doing this Saturday (March 21st)? We hope you can make it out to the Vaudeville to party with us. We’re gonna play for like an hour and a half, and Aquamarine Dream Machine is gonna play, and so is Jason Sturges (if you haven’t seen him yet, you’re missing out! One of Iowa’s most eclectic musicians- fingertapped jazz on a Chapman Stick!).
Mikey has a baby due in April, so there won’t be anymore in-town shows ‘til May…
Calling all JCGB Brethren & Sistren..... Our Quest for a Drummer...Our full time Green Band Drummer...the Fifth Musketeer.....etc..... has helped us meet some great players but none thus far who are available to commit to all of our dates and rehearsals etc. We're lookin' high and low for good high energy percussionists who would enjoy giggin', makin' money, and havin' a blast and going over the next horizon with the JCGB. Now.... We're puttin' out adds, and flyers and searching the nether regions of the internet but if any of y'all know any drummers lookin' for a band let us know..... Keep yer eyes and ears pealed and give us a holler if you know or hear of anyone who'd wanna sit in or audition with us..... A life time supply of something cool that I'll make up later cuz I'm tired right now awaits the JCGB brother or sister who hooks us up with a player who wants to audition.... AND if you find us a drummer who ends up makin it into the band.... well.....then.....wouldn't that be cool....hah?....yyyeahhhh. Thanks y'all. We know our drummer's out there lookin' for us. We'll take all the help we can get findin' him.
