Hi, I'm Jeff Guevin. I'm a double bass player with over 18 years of experience, specializing in Jazz, but I've played Classical, Folk, Klezmer, Rock, and probably some other stuff as well. I'm originally from Hawaii, but lived in California, Oregon, Washington, New York, and Ann Arbor, Michigan, before recently moving east again to Binghamton, NY. I studied music at Whitman College and Cornell University (where I got my degree), and recently studied a bit of classical bass with Diana Gannett (professor at the University of Michigan). I've played with a number of Jazz groups over the years, and recently played and recorded with Joe Reilly, making some jazz-inflected folk music.
The recordings I have here are on my electric upright bass, from a "living room session", recorded with my friend & guitarist Rob Coates, back in 2002 or so. I'm working on getting a good recording setup for my new double bass and will post clips of that soon.
<<Test Subject: "Jeff Guevin">>, I apologize for not speaking to you right away. I was at work today, for a very long time... I was holding down a 1500 megawatt Aperture Science Supercolliding Super Button for a certain new test subject... he did not escape.
hey Jeff,
it was great to see you the other night. Thanks so much for coming.
I'm in Korea right now doing some gigs. I wish you all the best for your and Anna.
Have a great rest of the summer.
