am mostly known as a drummer but have been playing the guitar and writing songs for a very long time. Other than drumming, songwriting is my favorite thing to do musically. One of my songs,"Empty",recently received an Honorable Mention in the "Song of the Year" songwriting contest. This song features Andie K. Joyner from Blacktop Gypsy singing the lead vocals. She did an incredible job! Now if I could just sing, well, that's another thing. Several of my tunes have appeared in TV movies and on various CD's. I am currently working on a CD to be released this year that will feature my songs as well as my drumming. I occassionally play live with vocalist Alan Pollard and plan on more of that this year. My "day job" is drummer for Texas singer/songwriter Max Stalling who is I feel the best in that genre. Max keeps me fairly busy and we have a new record coming out in April which should add to the chaos! I also work with various singer/songwriters in the Dallas/Fort Worth area. Tim Miller (new CD this year), Brad thompson, Ross Vick(drums, producer), Heather Knox(drums, guitar, vocals, producer), Sara Donaldson, Stephanie Sammons (drums, guitar, producer-out soon), Troy Dixon (producer), Olivia Twinning (drums, guitar, producer) are just a few of the high quality writers I work with. Some examples of their work are here to check out. I spent many years playing drums for Fort Worth's Johnny Reno touring the country swingin' the jump blues-lounge-a-billy that Johnny does so well. Johnny is absolutely the finest Sax man in the biz! Johnny is also a first rate writer/producer having many tunes appear in many movies. I think Johnny is the man who inspired me the most and made me realize one has to wear many hats in order to stay affloat being a musician. So, I bought a guitar and became a songwriter; I produced some records, now I'm a producer. It's just that simple! Look for more new tunes on this page in the very near future.
Hey Jeff. Just wanted to say that you guys really rocked it out yesterday at love and war! Thank you guys for letting us open and letting us borrow Brandon on Ring of Fire....that was cool!
Hi Jeff! I'm pretty sure we are coming to see you guys this friday night at Poor Davids...that is where you are playing, right? Its hard keeping up with both the BTG schedule and the Stalling & Co. schedule. Gives me a brain-fart.
This comment is going out to everyone today to ask you to wish us luck here at South By Southwest. This one's really important for us and your support means a lot to us.
Oh, and if you happen to be here in Austin, come see us play!
Hey there Mr. Howe! Haven't heard from you for awhile! How is that Kelly SHU microphone mount working out for you? Please send us an update when you get the chance!
We've managed to get a few well-respected players using the system! Our Kelly SHU mounts are out on tour with Justin Timberlake and Keith Harris of the Black Eyed Peas/Fergie is using the system too! Hope to hear back from you soon! Take care.
