and away we go......Jerry Lee Lewis, James Brown, wilco, Miles Davis, Ahmad Jamal, Big Star, Jimmy Smith, Keith Jarrett, Crowded House, Squeeze, Van Morrison, Brad Mehldau, Todd Rundgren, Stax Soul, Al Green, Sly Stone, Tom Petty, The Band, The Beach Boys, The Zombies, Fountains of Wayne, NRBQ, Debussy,Bach, Rachmaninov, Astor Piazzolla, George Jones, Little Feat, Red Garland, Charlie Rich, the late great Ray Charles, Elvis Costello, Freddy King, Otis Spann, Steve Winwood, Aretha Franklin-her Amazing Grace double album is my idea of The Liturgy, Los Lobos, Burt Bacharach and Booker T. and the MG's. Whatever it is, it's gotta have Soul..
I'm a NYC-based musician (keyboards, vocalist, & songwriter) who is a longtime member of the legendary Soul/Rock band, Southside Johnny & The Asbury Jukes. I have, as a touring band member, toured with Bon Jovi on its Have A Nice Day World Tour and can often be seen performing with Jon Bon Jovi on his solo gigs. Once in a while, I'll sub for Paul Shaffer on the Late Show w/ David Letterman. Most recently, I wrote and produced the theme song "Give Some More" for Madison Square Garden's Garden Of Dreams charity foundation. "Give Some More"--also featuring the wonderful Robert Randolph on steel guitar and vocals-- is cranked through the Garden's speakers most every night during breaks in the action at Knicks and Rangers games.
I'm originally from Lima, Ohio, studied Jazz piano and Composition at The Ohio State University & Morehead State University, and moved to NYC, NY in the mid-Nineties. Since then, I have hit the Downtown scene with Chocolate Genius, toured and recorded with the Folk/Pop artist Dar Williams, played the Blues with guitarists G.E. Smith and Steve Cropper, written and arranged music for television, advertising, Broadway, award shows, and real life recording artists....and about 1,500 cool and a few not-so-cool gigs in between all of that other nonsense.
Recorded in 1998, "No River" is my lone CD available at the moment. Over the last couple years, I have been recording another collection (or two) of originals. The more recent stuff falls into piano-driven, Crowded House/Squeeze meets Bacharach territory. I'm using pianos, guitars, string, horns, picked basses, vibes, tympanis, and yes--even real loud drums at times. A couple of the songs are available for your listening pleasure on this page.
Through some blind luck, a bit of hard work, and the affliction known as Curiosity, I have managed to meet many of my heroes, share grand (some not-so-grand) stages with many of them, and see the world thanks to Music. This Trip has gone so much further than I could have ever dreamt..and I'm still a Fan.
....Currently, performing in NYC with my own music series called kazeedigs..a series of shows dedicated to playing the music that lives in Heavy Rotation on my iPod, turntable, and 8 track player.......check out myspace.com/kazeedigs for more kazeedigs stuff.

Hey Jeff! Sooooo Cool 2 C all U guys at JBJs show last night.. I'm just calling it JBJ & The Asbury Jukes! Show was awesome-Thanks! (and I 2nd the Facebook thing!) Lisa
Got new wheels, but all of a sudden a train ride to DC sounds good! (Deer seem to avoid train tracks!) See you at the Birchmere, and feel free to do as MANY, as MANY songs as you can! It's just hard for this old lady to maintain the energy when there is too much of a break in between sets! so I think Southside is on to a very important concept...keep the show going strong for as long as you can, because once you stop, it's hard to get going again! Happy Holidays!!
The show at the Cutting Room on Friday night was GREAT!! HOWEVER< if you hadn't done a second set, I never would have collided with that huge deer on the way home! I knew I was havin' too much fun way too late! See you on New Years at the Basie! Lin
