"I listened to Jeff's music with great interest, his lyrics are meaningful and clear."~CAT STEVENS
Jeff Krantz in Billboard Magazine (Jan. 2008)
The story is simple-This New Years Eve I was in the English countryside and ended up playing a small show with my friend Chloe (she is a classical violinist), at a tiny place called Foxholes. The reception was so positive that when I returned to NYC, I walked up to my boss and smiled as I said, "I'm giving you my two weeks."
I flew back to the UK to record my first demo and have been back in NYC promoting and playing shows ever since . I am an active performer in Second Life (under the name Hep Shepherd) which is quite possibly the coolest thing in the world for an emerging singer-songwriter. I play weekly shows for 10's of thousands of fans from all over the world who log into the virtual world...pretty weird huh?
Anyway, in August of 2007 I was interviewed by Newsweek magazine for my performances in Second Life (which you can read on my website). A few weeks later I received a letter from my hero, Cat Stevens (Yussef Islam) who convinced me that I had made the right decision to pursue music! Well..I pretty much freaked out given that he is my musical hero, and kept going. Within a few months I was starting to appear in blogs, tv shows, and magazines (including the big piece in Billboard). The time has come to record a full length album which should be released in Fall 2008!

Hi, have a great day. If you have time, I have a strange gig story from way back, that has loosely inspired the title of my upcoming album "Bright Lights Big City".
Honest songwriting filled with powerful and thought provoking lyrics. Blues and Gypsy influenced Rock music with vintage feel, yet an original and innovative style and sound. -It's music you like.
Have a great week Jeff Krantz, and keep your dreams alive! Tell your friends to add me, and stop by anytime.... Brian Michael www.myspace.com/eyesabovewater
