| Bio | I grew up a spindly, uncoordinated Star Trek fan with a sizeable comic book collection and a huge, humped schnozz. I was inept at sports and much preferred dissecting frogs and catching lizards. I endured years of noogies, wedgies, and purple nurples. Finally, it was the prospect of dying a virgin that convinced me that a change was needed. When I was 16 I got a nosejob but women still wouldn’t let me put my schmeckle in them so bought a guitar. In 1992 I hit the Stage as Powered By Satan. I wore red leotards with horns and a tail and played funny songs in rock clubs. This got me laid so I wore those itchy leotards for 13 more years. I put out a CD called "When the Log Rolls Over We’ll Be Dead," acquired a sizeable cult following, and played all over the Northeast. Now I'm just Jeff Leon, the Dork from New York. My act is me in plainclothes talking about stupid, inane things and playing funny, dweeby songs. My material includes life as a techno dweeb, my nosejob, getting picked on as a kid, my cat’s dingleberry problem, health food, and women with Slayer tattoos on their necks. My shows have ranged from 100% music to 100% stand-up but they are usually about a 50:50 mix. | | Website | jeffleoncomedy.com | | Influences | I am most influenced by all the nameless small time comics who knocked my socks off once or twice at some small venue or another and then faded into oblivion. A lot of them are way more talented than the famous ones. I also love Steve Martin, Woody Allen, Emo Phillips, Sam Kinison, Eddie Murphy, Mike Judge, Weird Al Yankovic, Larry Bud Melman, and Monty Python. About me:
I am a 42 year old New York Jew with a guitar. I am a reformed headbanger, a neurotic techno dweeb, and a borderline social retard who suffers from adult acne. I have a big nose despite having had a nosejob. I don't tell jokes about Britney Spears or TV shows or what's in the headlines. I generally don't do penis humor (although I will do some testicle humor). What I do deliver is a musical comedy act that is as original, heartfelt, and tastefully offbeat. My performances are usually equal parts stand-up and funny songs although I have done complete sets of either. My songs and humor are generally about innane and stupid things like my cat's dingleberry problem, a South American frog that looks like a scrotum, or the different species of wedgies I got as a kid. I do clean sets and blue sets. I've entertained black, white, latino, gay, lesbian, teenybopper, soccer mom, and rehab audiences. "Quirky," "likable," and "original" have been used to describe some of my performances. "Don't let him breed" has been screamed by audience members at others.
