“Morris shows an ear for listener-friendly rock, lots of melody toughened up by solid, crunchy guitar” The New Brunswick Reader
“…this 11-song set is a well crafted, well produced effort that finds Morris at the top of his game, churning out smart, guitar driven power pop nuggets and Beatlesque ballads…” The Gaurdian
“Jeff Morris has created a sort-of `remember when` power pop gem here on his debut as it intermingles, quite intimately, the most classic sounds of such early 80`s bands as The Hawks, The Producers(and Rick Springfield)… with the more modern touches of the 2002 reunion of Fools Face, The Candy Butchers, The Elms and The JTG Implosion. Almost all these songs sound like the ready to take on many different radio formats…” Not Lame Recording Company
Jeff Morris is a purveyor of pure pop rock. His new Canadian single 'Far Away' is receiving a lot of attention on the East Coast lately with eleven commercial radio station adds, and reaching the number "3 spot" on the East Coast Countdown. 'Far Away' is the title track off Jeff's upcoming sophomore album being produced by David Rashed (Haywire). The cd launch date is June 2008, and Jeff's group will be performing in concert throughout the Maritimes this summer!
Morris' critically acclaimed debut album afterglow, recorded at The Factory Studios in Vancouver, features a potent blend of striking melodic and lyrical hooks, big guitars, and fluid vocals. The album's three singles, 'Cellophane Girl', 'Everything', and 'Sitting on the Moon' received heavy commercial radio play throughout Atlantic Canada.
An award winning songwriter, Jeff has shared the stage with artists such as Bryan Adams, Steve Earle and Tom Cochrane, and showcased at NEMO in Boston, the ECMA's in Halifax and Charlottetown, and at Contact East in St. John's Nfld. His song "Sitting on the Moon" received an honorable mention in the 2003 John Lennon International Songwriting Competition.
