Jeff Phillips is a singer/songwriter originally from New York City, home of the Yankees and the best Sicilian pizza in the world. Born with no movement in his left hand, Jeff found that by playing guitar left-handed (using his dysfunctional hand for strumming) and playing with only a pick essentially taped to his hand, he was able to learn with very minimal hand use. Against the odds, Jeff attended and graduated from the prestigious Berklee College of Music in Boston, where he majored in Performance and Composition. He has since played his acoustic melodies across the country to adoring fans. Jeff recently recorded his debut album Handful of Gimmes in Miami, Florida with producer Aaron Fulkerson. The tracks were mixed by grammy-award winning engineer Ikor Gastiminsa (most recently known for his work with Shakira) and mastered by acclaimed engineer Bob St. John (whos credits include Steely Dan, Def Leppard and many more). The CD is now available on CD Baby, TowerRecords.com and iTunes. The work is a mixture of both guitar and piano driven songs, reminiscent of the classic singer/songwriter royalty, but with a feel and sound all its own. The infectious groove and intelligent lyrics on Handful of Gimmes create a meaningful, and most of all fun listening experience. Currently, Jeff resides in Los Angeles, California where he can be seen exciting audiences with his energetic live performances. When asked about his music Jeff claims, Its easy to be authentic if you write from the heart, and adds with a smile Thank God there will never be another me in the world.
